You can change the scale by adding ?scale=5 to the url, where 5 is the
scale...

Inspired by Moss' idea, I made similar version using my more accurate/longer
list of scenics and using either my PNG map as base, or same bat.org based GIF
as base. Both are lightweight.

PS. The reason for the full asciimap being so heavy is that I had to put it
inside a table so the browsers would colour the bg to black.. Using div its
easier to render, but they fail to colour the bg to black. Bugs, pfft.
If anyone got solution for that, let me know. So far I've got people agree on
the browser part
