We've spent a bunch of time talking about encouraging new players to play
batmud, made newbie channel newbie friendly, made pleasantville, promoted
batmud in mudconnector, and other stuff like new batclients, etc...it seemed
like we're trying to get new players to keep batmud's dwindling playerbase
alive. It's rarely over 150 unidle these days, and I don't have exact stats as
to the old player numbers, but it had at one point seemed to be regularly over
200 during european daytimes.

That all said, we've had a rash of negative events the last few days...meteor,
mc demon, clones, all sorts of stuff. This is a bit annoying to the higher
level players, but new players who come on to play get confused, and turned
away by these...one event is fine, but when it seems to them like every turn
there's some negative event running to kill them or steal their hard-won onog
axe, or whatever...well, if I were a new player I'd leave.

So I asked an arch "what the hell is with all the negative events lately an
yways? we decided to stop encouraging new players to play or something?"
Okay, i could have asked nicer or something, but the response:
"couldn't care less"

Should I just stop promoting bat to new players, etc? I don't want to waste my
time if that's not what bat is after these days...

Dear upset customer,

I regret to inform you that our customer complaint department is not
open on saturday mornings at 02:30 am. At that hour, most of our
customer care specialists are busy enjoying the weekend after a week
of hard work. Some of them may even be a bit drunk and/or tired.

Should you still wish to complain at 02:30 am on a saturday morning,
you may at times get a "couldn't care less" answer. Don't take it
personal, your input is very valuable to us, but perhaps the timing
was off.
