After receiving feedback from some less-than-amused players about a few of our
events (namely: clones, magic eater), I had an idea:
What if we'd include some sort of a reward for these events? E.g. after
slaying the magic eater, the spells would actually be cheaper than usual to
cast. And maybe the faster it gets killed, the bigger & longer lasting the
reward could be. And what comes to clones: killing your own clone could give
you some bonuses for the rest fo the boot (or for X minutes). These could be
something like +random regen type (hpr/spr/epr), +luck or +avoid death (or
+chance for those who have it). These were just quick ideas, anything fun
could be added.
Giving these bonuses wouldn't still take away the original intention of the
events: the magic eater would still cause troubles to casters and parties, and
clones could still kill an unwary player and wreack havoc in parties. But at
least players could have a way to repair some of the damage - and maybe with a
pinch of luck, they could actually benefit from these events that are atm
regarded to exist mostly just to make the players cry
These tweaks shouldn't even be too laborous or time-consuming code-wise, so
give me feedback about this idea. If it gets support, maybe I'll try to do
something about this when I have a bit more time
