Hi, a while back there was conversation about some mortals taking over the
duties that twomi performed.

Specifically, i loved the top exp makers plaque. That was great, and it
really added a lot to the game. Ive heard that doing the top plaque thingy is
really easy, can some mortal with a reasonable amount of coding experience do
it?

Also whats going on with a reinc sim? Can we please have an official word
from an admin whether one will be forthcoming or not, and if so, when? Such a
statement might make it easier for some mortal to get up off his ass and
finally make one, if no admin is working on one.

Anyways, cheerios!

To adress your questions per-point.

1) Top plaque is really easy to make, I could try and arrange someone to code
it. Maybe in a bit more ehanced version.

2) I am working on a reinc simulator. Although my spare time that I can spend
on bat varies due to variable workload I have IRL. I can't give you a
deadline, cuz I have none set. I'm trying to make it as soon as possible, but
I have a job, a wife and a daughter to attend to in my spare time as well.
Hence, one will come, sooner or later. If some mortal cares to make one ahead
of me - sure, be my guest. Mine will either obsolete mortal controlled one
later on, or it will be an optional version to use, or whatnot. The fact that
I'm working on one in no way prohibits you from making one on your own.

^o^

Hi Favorit,

While I think that a wiz programmed/maintained reinc simulator would be the
perfect solution I think something more practical needs to be done in order to
get something going.

What you/your minions should be working on is producing a dump of the required
simulator information in an easy to parse form, sort of like what Nosunrise
did with the guild skills/spells in the forum.

This data would be (at least):
- Racial skill/spell maxes
- Racial skill/spell costs
- Skill/spell costs
- Skills that don\'t obey racial skill maxes (cast generic etc)

That way talented players can take responsibility for the reinc simulator until
a wiz done one appears.

Ideally information on racial stats, guild stats, background stats and hp/sp/ep
formulae will be provided too but that is of lesser importance.

Reincarnation is one of the stand out features of Batmud. It should be
highlighted, promoted and supported, not treated like another it will be done
when its done type of thing.

Cheers,
Askan

About the exp plaque... I have had one made for some time now. Though I admit
it needs some brushing up to do, but I got no time (nor motivation) currently
to improve it. I can throw you the source code if there's someone who will
want to improve my implementation. If not, what do i care.
