Perhaps this council could wrap it's arms around the most contradictory
thing currently in game, namely solo/party/player interactivity?

You enforce p2p-interactivity with an astonishingly stupid iron fist in
some cases, like merchants are needed to play the game, you need surgery and
feather weights, sometimes other services. This can't be changed, its a holy
and sacred corner-stone of Batmud. Even if it sometimes ruins gameplay where
nobody is able to perform named services. How about a npc who offers fw's,
make it cost 20k each, but at least give us the option when the need is dire.

In other cases you don't give a shit about p2p-IA. The game as I know it,
used to be a party-mud, once a holy and sacred corner-stone of Batmud, that
can't be changed, where you teamed up with others to get the job done, be it
exp, explore or eq. Well news-flash, that's not really how it is. It's a
powerhouse solomud, where the latest guild-developments and great ideas of new
gameplay completely annihilated the party concept. I'm not saying new guilds
are bad, I'm just stating the clearly visible aftermath. If this is intended,
well then I suggest you put it somewhere in the official description of the
game, so I can give up my olden dreams of doing efficient gameplay in a group
or blatantly just reinc into a solo-machine and enjoy the game like so, if
thats how the admin feels it should be enjoyed.

The only rewarding group-gameplay left is doing eq, but it is limited by
the administration via various abuseprots. Lets turn that around for a minute
now shall we, for the sake of shits, giggles and a funny thought - What would
happen if you abuse-protted soloing? What would happen if you enforced
party-gameplay, be it via various bonuses in one end, or punishments in the
other end, I don't know. There you go, perhaps I raised some thoughts and
ideas, perhaps I kept you entertained during a regen break or four, perhaps I
didn't use the word fuck in capital letters, perhaps I formatted my post and
used a decent language, who knows, maybe you care as little as I do when
reading Lammas posts, either way, rant's over =)

Carry on, Swedu.

Okay this is my view of solo vs. party

Back in the day when all i had were classes and beer to drink jumping on and
doing some 12 hour exp/eq partying was great and fine.

Real world we all got old or older and most of now have jobs, kids, wives, and
such. That maybe why the game progressed in the fashion it has (maybe not).

Currently I love to be able to get on kill exp mobs, log off go coach soccer or
work on the yard, and then maybe log back in later that night and do some party
crap.

I would consider including some party based incentives (maybe exp/coin/eq prot
drop bonus depending on party size?) but please dont go screwing with the solo
guilds for those of us that also live in the real world.

I didn't mean to fuck with anybodies solo-game, just pointing out that solo is
too powerful, that people cba to even party in the first place, if that was
unclear. Solo 10k rate be my guest, solo 30-40k, okee maybe change something.

We can have a chat about this at the gala, however I doubt there are easy
solutions. The flipside of the coin (i.e. us adding more "requires" a large
group) is people complaining that they need parties "for everything".
Technically nothing prevents us from doing this, but I suspect some people
would be unhappy about that approach also.

Hence there needs to be a balance which means there should be sufficient
content that can be done solo (or in small groups) and things to do with
a full 9-man party also.

I have always found it difficult to find a party. Now when newbies and midbies
seem to be minority it seems even less likely to get into a party. When
someone asks for a tank on wanted, they have quite a lot of highbies to select
from.

Are there really so many players that can solo Tiamat or do 30k rate alone
that it should be tuned? There seems to be less players around these days, and
less players = less parties. Hence even more soloing?
