Well, I was extremly lucky that my tournament went to shit and
I was able to attend due to a day off. Grinded points for hours and
got my uberneck.
Here are some comments on the redfang event, I'll try to be brief.
What we disliked:
- The race to midbosses and the ensuing PvP. This is _not_ a PvP mud.
- Merchant uberness. I mean, whoa. Any merchant care to tell how many
remnants you got with 8h of work? Our 9man got 650...
- Newbie staffs on highbies. Silly.
- Awards. Way out of tune. 50+ necks and almost 50 masks in a single
boot. I feel sad for people who've grinded TopEnd(tm) mobs for years
only to see some newbie wave a staff for 30mins to get equal stuff.
Also, some of this stuff (+10dex neck) is ungettable. Kinda unfair
if you cant logon on event day. AND on top of that no-one will visit
some of those top mobs anymore since their gear just became redundant.
What we liked:
- The undisrupting nature off the event. You could do your normal
routines and not be disturbed by the event.
- Newbies selling their days work to highbies for good cash.
- Descs and monsters were topnotch.
- Relatively simple format that was obviously picked up by a lot of
people.
