It's kinda sad how any unpopular suggestion or comment made in news or on
channel turns a personal attack in this mud. For me, it's a little
disappointing to see, but that's about the end of it. Not everyone wants to
put up with cyber-bullying (which is basically what it is) though. They just
leave the game (and in some publicized cases, worse things happen.)

I suppose this is a plea just to check your wording and know your audience
(that they've been around and can take it) before you reply to something.

Think I'm wrong? Go back and read a couple posts from Vorn a few months ago.
Then finger him and see the last time he was on. He was a new player, a
living, seemingly nice person. Isn't that what we're trying to get more of
here?

PS - Yes, I realize that this post will result in more personal attacks agains
me. Go for it.

I'm not sure I'd say it's cyber-bullying, but attacking someone because they
post up an idea, especially a half-decent one or twenty, is not (at least to
me) acceptable behavior.

If Vorn isn't a good enough example of what acting like an arse can cause,
finger Twomi.

P.S. Anyone who thinks Chaste here is wrong, may direct their attacks toward
me.

This is somewhat like the allegory of the cave scenerio. It's generally safer
for newbies to just listen and grind.

Hi,

Since I bet this post was the result of my bashing of you in the bs group, I'll
take the liberty of responding to it.

First of all you need to get your head out of your ass and stop trying to gain
peoples attention by sounding like you've been wronged, or "bullied" as you
like to call it.

This is how stuff works, in real life and in bat:

Person A makes a suggestion of something, which is hilarously stupid (for
whatever reason).
Person B teases and makes fun of person A about it.
Person A hopefully get's her/his shit together and think twice before opening
her mouth again.

This is not bullying. This is as simple as a reaction to an action, deal with
it. If you open your mouth and present stupid shit, you're gonna get bashed.
And presenting the mud with some sort of censoring filter is just that, stupid
shit. I've also come up with really poor ideas and I've taken a bashing for
them, I didnt go running to mommy and starting fingerpointing naming ppl
"internet bullies" - grow the fuck up.

If you're not of age (mentally or physically) or sane enough to actually deal
with the words of the people within Batmud, you should probably consider going
somewhere else.

And as a sidenote to your response about Acidia not wanting to waste time or
energy on coding your language filter and therefor having the worst attitude
ever... any fucking day of the week I'd take a rude, obnoxious, knowitall,
pottymouth wizard over one that would actually use his time coding a
languagefilter. Why? Well chances are he's actually going to use his time
coding some real content and bring something to this mud.

Oh and all these are my personal views, opnions and all that yada yada.

I'm going to take just a second to respond to the whole "cyber bullying"
thing. This is my take on the issue, for what its worth. I think the vast
majority of people on this mud grew up in democracies where, to some degree,
there was a reasonable degree of freedom of speech. I know myself personally,
I hold my freedom of expression to be sacrosanct. Imho, one of the great
things about the internet is that it allows you to get your shit out there,
i.e. say whatever you want to say. However,I also think that the vast
majority of you recognize that when you aren't putting your face to your
words, quite often that leads to people being bigger douche bags than you
would normally be.

That being said here is my take on the situation:
1) Chaste's idea was dumb as shit.
2) Merioli's response was over-the-top and probably uncalled for.
3) Both of them have the right to say what they did on a public forum
4) If either one of them got offended by any of the responses afterwards they
need to get a thicker skin, i.e. maybe they shouldn't be posting. (Same goes
to Vorn btw, I feel absolutely no need to coddle new players who decide to
post stupid shit on a forum they know absolutely nothing about ...not that I
personally would attack them, but ...ITS A PUBLIC forum! You have to expect
that in this day and age).
5) ANY physical violence/threats in response to such comments however is
TOTALLY unacceptable and should be dealt with STRICTLY by the player base
and/or administration if necessary.
