I know a few people out there would like to be able to set their starting
location on their ships. The problem with this is that there are a couple of
checks that have to be performed in the first few seconds of entering the game
before all of your "ship statistics" are ready.

So the question is... suppose you entered the game in an "ethereal zone" for
those first few seconds, and then were teleported onto your ship. This would
take a bit of coding, and probably won't happen for a while, and there will
probably be some initial fee for it (25k or so) - just because I'm greedy ;)
Also, if you ever failed to have enough money to pay the summoning fee, or if
your ship was crashed/sunk, you would appear in the church instead.

The question is - does this seem reasonable, and would you <really> use it?

I would of course include an option for you to be able to start in your
homeport location.
