Not too surprisingly, the worldmap change has resulted in an increased
interest in ships, and hence an increased rush for crew, and in turn reports
of camping for trainers. I have never approved of camping, having at one point
banned someone from hiring special crew ;)

But, human nature is what it is, and there is certainly a majority of
minmaxers around here. So, I've finally figured out a method for achieving the
oft-requested method of removing any incentive to camp.

Effective immediately, no special crew will spawn at the training sites.

Sometime soon (this weekend, most likely) I will see about coding my long term
solution ;). In essence, you will be able to hire 'regular' crew at will, and
each boot each player will get a chance at their one special crewmember of the
day. The quality of this crewmember will be at least somewhat rep based, just
to avoid people cheating with secondaries.

Thats great with special crew members (i've only managed to get one from
people camping, using spider demons, sheltering it over last 2 days).

However another problem is this crew promotion. I just cannot get my crew
promoted its always full. I dont know if you have a scheme for this as well,
but I would suggest only allowing 1 promotion per week or something. Maybe
people not beingable to swap crew to specials via trigs will help but atm this
system really stinks.

Having hard restrictions which depend on other players is VERY frustrating and
this system seems particularly unfair. Thats not just for promotion, but
quests, rapeprots etc..

Thanks for all the good work, hope for speedy tweaks however :D

PS. I have been trying to promote my crew for like 30h out of the last 48h,
check it every hour or less. (Yes by typing I dont have a bots). SO some less
active player really has no chance#

Good point; I'll put some thought into a more independent promotion system.

like i told u, introduce exp(for npc sailors) that way they grow instead of u
having to teach them. Life time of experience is still worth more than few
hours with a chalk board.
This would also solve alot of balance issue now.

In theory, theory and practice are the same, but in practice, theyre not.
