One way to raise some diversity on nomads would be that characters could
choose their weapon type just like mages do choose their damage type. One
could choose the weapon type of his liking at the very first level. Because it
is just stupid that my character has bonuses for weapons he/it/she has never
ever used and never ever will.
So basically weapon type one would get the bonus that is now on bludgeons,
second that of axes... if someone is fool enough to train every base skill,
strike skill, strike mastery on every weapon type he could get some kind of
prize for it, like "FOOL!" title or something. Maybe that could be one
criteria on how much one could train that useless mastery on crimsons, whether
he has trained all weapon types or not.
