Just a thought, and I'm not sure if its been mentioned and dismissed before so
apologies if it has.

I've often liked the idea of hardcore bat, and tried it a couple of times.
However my addiction to the flowery batclient and the way the newer world of
bat is set up now means I tend to lose interest after a while (I guess there's
a smaller population on there too).

I was wondering, why not give people an option to create a "hardcore"
ie. permadeath character in standard bat? It could work like a secondary, in
that it's linked to your main (so you can only have 1 at a time) and it gains
boosts to exp/stats etc in response to having permadeath on. Could also be
shown in peoples finger info and who etc who is a hc character, and maybe even
give party boosts to help the inevitable low exp characters find parties. (not
sure if that could be abused though?)

I'm sure there's negatives to this idea, and it would probably be difficult to
code for. It was just a thought I had, and I think it would make bat a more
exciting place for those who enjoy dying.
