As help robot specifically states, using actions that affect the mud without
being involved is illegal. Triggers such as "get corpse" when you see "R.I.P."
qualify as one of those actions, and should not be done. Help robot also
mentions the use of items, spells, or skills. This includes such corpse
triggers as "light torch/use looting and burning" and "dig grave" and "say
arkemile" (I'm looking in your general direction, Laa-ban). What help robot
does not say, and should nto say, is "...but it's ok if you're not idle".
Idleness or lack thereof is not a valid reason to use automatic scripts like
these.
Example: a player goes idle next to a cash monster with a "get all" corpse
trigger. Another player kills the monster, and whammo, the first idle guy gets
the loot. (This is actually a big reason why these rules exist in the first
place). Even if the second guy kills the first guy, he won't get the money
back.
Example: a player waits next to a cash monster with a "get all" corpse trigger
on. Another player kills the monster, and whammo, the first non-idle guy gets
the loot. The second player says "give that back" to which the first replies
"no, you snooze you lose" and (manually) runs off. This is not fair to the
second player either.
Rather than make this MUD about who has the best triggers and the fastest
connection, which we don't want, the smart thing to do is ban "competitive"
trigger use, which is what we have done and will continue to do. Now, does
this mean I will spend 16h a day tracking down people who trigger "dig grave"
while idle in the church, or who "get corpse/eat corpse" in an exp party? No,
probably not, and I get the feeling other wizards won't either. But if someone
does the following:
-- triggers to zap with wand/scroll/special item when summoned/reloced, or
-- triggers "cast shelter" when their field drops to seal off an area, or
-- trigges "get all" to the death of a monster when they are not fighting it
cannot use "it's okay because I wasn't idle" as a defense. It isn't.
So, please, learn to turn those things off when you need to.

P.S. I know that using a trigger to get rid of a "minor annoyance" is allowed.
Stealing someone else's corpse it not a minor annoyance, nor are triggers
which do that, even accidentally, allowed.
