To test our newbie helpers, this weekend there will be a special competition.
The following five newbie helpers are involved:

-- Ooga
-- Sprite
-- Tixe

Each of these five team leaders will select a team of five newbies. For the
purpose of this competition, "newbie" means level 50 and under and not
mid-reinc (although, in the original spirit of rebirth, rebirthers can
participate). I strongly recommend each team have at least one player small
enough to enter level-restricted areas. When the event starts, a list of items
to collect will be made available to all participants. The object is for each
player and each team to collect as many of the items as they can during the
time limit, which is the boot at noon Sautrday to the boot at noon Sunday (24
hours, so every player has equal opportunity regardless of time zone). Some
items are harder than others and worth more points. Each newbie who
participates gets exp and gold based on how well they do (up to 100k)
regardless of how well their team does. However, the team with the most points
gets 10tps each, and the second best team gets 5 tps each, with ties broken by
order of completion (first wins). Individual high scorer get 10 tps, and
second place high scorer gets 5 tps, with ties broken by order of completion.

The event "headquarters" is the old Newbie Sign, 2 e from church.

Team Leaders: While you do not need to be online for your team to participate,
you are allowed to help your team in action (heals, area knowledge, summons,
etc). You _do_ have to sign your team up yourself, and you must be online
before the event starts to do that. Pick and choose your team based on who
asks to join. You don't need a full five to play, but it would help.

Newbies: Contact your favorite newbie helper on this list and ask to sign up
for the competition. There is no penalty for participation, but remember the
helpers are there out of the goodness of their hearts, and approach them
respectfully.
