Thought on briefing you again on the status of our crash hunt.
Since we started running 64-bit, or, for the illiterate of us, the BigNumbers
BatMUD, we've crashed 6 times. We enabled debug mode on the dirver to be able
to traceback the crashes, and we were able to determine 3 definite driver bugs
that were responsible for 4 out of 6 crashes. Those have been patched, and
starting from tomorrow's boot, they should officially considered to be
eliminated.
Now, as for the last 2 crashes, we don't have proper debugging information,
although we tend to believe those were covered as well by the recent fixes.
Should we, however, crash again (I hope not) - we are fully equipped to track
the stuff down quickly and, IMO, not lesat important, we have great support
from current driver maintenance team.
So, say BIG Thank You to Zesstra & Gnomi, not only for maintaining the driver
that makes BatMUD a reality, but also for spending their time on looking into
our crashes in particular.
So long, and thanks for all the fish, yours truly.
