I admit, we might have been a bit hasty about this and the information
available to you was indeed lacking. Occasionally, we your beloved wizards,
start thinking about adding "stuff for you to do" in the game. Sometimes it's
a content push, like an area, but there are also smaller chances entering the
game.
Some time ago we added mysterious scrolls. More recently we added another set
of mysterious scrolls. Some of you might know what I'm talking about, but most
probably do not. We like stuff like that. Mysterious stuff. But we also like
stuff that some people can locate, find, transport and eventually sell to
other people. We like ecosystems that encourage player interaction.
But we're not here to talk about mysterious scrolls.
We're here to talk about weight.
The short version is:
- We would like to hide carried weight.
- We would like to have a way for you too see this weight that isn't
excessively expensive or cumbersome (merchants and scrolls you can
carry with you)
- We would like to add a way to restore this "old style, numeric weight". This
would require another scroll and would last your current reinc. (For all
this
hassle, this scroll would also give a small bonus to being burdened and to
dodge. We don't intend this to be a nerf. Nor expensive.)
Not everything is yet decided, but we don't expect this to affect newbies.
(Except positively, as they have a part in this ecosystem.)
Q) Why do you want to do this?
A) Because it creates a need for those services currently available and for
those items that we would like to add. For something to be valuable, it
must have a need.
Q) Yes, but couldn't you just do this like this: ... ?
A) Probably. But we don't have a good imagination, which is why we thought
to do it this way.
We are not going to push this down your throat. And to be honest, we don't
want
to spend time implementing and testing something that nobody wants.
There will be a poll.
If there will be a significant majority that would like to see this
implemented, it will be.
Otherwise, we'll just watch TV and play "Alice is dead, ep2" instead.
