As suggested before, the weekend before Halloween (Oct 28-30) will host
another one-shot event. I won't spoil the surprise of what you'll be fighting
this time, but I will tell you some of the rules:
-- you will want to arrange parties beforehand. 6man is the minimum, 9man
preferred. You can switch parties between fights but not during.
-- each of the 3 days, there will be three fights: 9AM EST, 3PM EST, and 9PM
EST. That translates to 4PM, 10PM, and 4AM Finnish time I think, but daylight
savings time will mess that up. Sorry.
-- one party fights at a time. When one party wipes, the next may immediately
enter to take their place, before the monster has any chance to regen. Wiped
parties are expected to rais/res and regroup, then wait for their turn to
re-enter the fight. This should prevent kill stealing.
-- killing other players should not be necessary for the event. In particular,
you don't get to kill another party and take their place in the fight.
-- there will be rewards earned from the fights, whether you land the killing
blow or not, for all participants. Note that a party that never gets a turn
does not get "points for intent" but a party that does 99% of the work, then
wipes, will get 99% of the credit.
-- newbies going into these fights will almost certainly be one-shot and
embarrassed publicly. I will probably have a seperate task for them that
doesn't involve 9man parties or scheduled times, similar to previous
Halloweens.
