This year, the prizes of the event are puchased by Halloween points. Points
are earned in the following ways:
-- any member of a party that does significant damage to the special boss can
earn points, to a maximum of 10 points per member.
-- undead scattered across the world have a chance to drop trick-or-treat bags
containing a few goodies. Opening a bag gives a point as well. Bags can be
traded, but cannot be opened by players higher level than the bag, and can
only award a point once.
-- Merchants and newbie helpers who "gift" a low-level bag to a low-level
player have a chance of getting points for the transaction.
-- And finally, merchants who make decent-quality rig armours have a chance of
finding a treat bag inside when they're done. This chance increases, and the
level of the bag increases, with better rigs (i.e. spamming crap won't get you
very much).

You can check your points, and purchase your items, from the machine in the
Lost Temple of Aljerak. The strongest items are reserved for those players who
take part in a boss kill, but most of the items are available to everyone.
