Me and dear Pangi set out on what I knew would be a long trip, we had to meet
up with a good friend Tenji, to speak him with about some matters. So we set
out, brought some of our favorites meals and a few changes of clothes, for we
knew it would be a long a tiresome journey. We hopped on the next ferry to
furnachia, and about twenty minutes later we arrived ready for the treck. We
followed the road as far as we could and as we reached the swamp we had to
rest, we were both completely worn out, our feet hurting and our backs aching.
After a long rest, we set out again, as we were about to exit the swamp a
large swamp monster attacked us, I yelled to Pangi, "Dont die! Cause I dont
feel like running all the way back to get you!" Pangi yelled back in a panic,
"My dodge is at 0, and I hit like a girl!"
Luckily we escaped and ran quickly into the hills, we ran around the hills,
until we reached a body of water, which we knew we had to swim. Problem was,
we were tired again, so we set up camp near an old fort, relaxed and talked
about old bat city, and how much easier things were.
"Lifes not fair, but we have to life with it" Pangi said to me, I responded
with "If only we were cool like those experienced characters with
navigators!". Pangi snickered, and we packed up camp and got back to our
adventure. Luckily we had the incantation for water walking, if not poor
Pangi might have drowned to death as I walked under the ocean. We reached the
other side, but once again, we had to rest.
"Some adventurers we are, walking across this empty continent" I said to
Pangi, "At least we are getting a work out. Maybe next time we can make the
run in five or six stops instead of ten." Then we realized that no matter how
much running we have done in our lifetimes, we never get stronger, it was
quite odd. We go a quick heal from a far, from a man named Pradedek, and we
were off to the races again. Halfway through the swamp we were once again
ambushed by a little bogling, but we couldnt get away, someone this small
being ambushed both of us. By the time we reached the jungle, poor Pangi was
calling for another camp out.
"Almost there," I told him. He shook his head in a displeased fashion and
closed his eyes. Forty Minutes in, and we were almost there I thought to
myself. This time I couldnt sleep, because the bugs from the swamp kept
biting me and bothering me, but we were too tired to move away. The night
grew on, as we realized our complete day would be spent on a simple treck, to
meet a simple man instead of being able to enjoy ourselves. "Oh well," I
said to Pangi. "It will be worth it, right?"
"Dont we have to run back here again, he always wants to see us to pass into
the ranks of his people." Pangi said. I held the tears back, as I knew
another fun session would have to be turned into another long run to meet the
man know as Tenji. So we finally made it, did our deed, and finally an hour
in, we are done.
Thank you for reading my tale, the meaning is obviously, the new system makes
is clearly almost unplayable for someone like me or Pangi. It seriously took
around an hour or so, to get to tenji without navs. Something really should
be done, it sucks all the running and traveling we must do for what used to be
such a simple process, its really a shame. Well, long live SHIPmud, or
RUNNINGmud, whichever you might call it.
