I will tell you this story like I heard it from the great Cultist of Aelena,
Wiege.
How it happened you ask? How I met my God?
I won't bore you with all the details and tell it shortly. It all started from
one man. Viko Agita, the sheriff of Rautasaari, one of the strongest cities of
Rothigken. Me and my brother cultist had been raiding some small cities around
and Viko had heard about our organ harvesting cult, the followers of the
scorpion, and him being very righteous, he wasn't that happy about it. That's
why he had sent some of his best men after me and my brothers, including the
master mage of Rautasaari, mr. Laaban Lih'ava, who could scorch three of us
with 1 spell. Of course, we really weren't happy that we couldn't continue our
doings and something had to be done.
Me and my brothers aren't the greatest warriors, but we are swift and sneaky,
so we tried to invade Rautasaari in the darkness, when the shadows embrace and
hide us. The whole thing was over before it even started. Somehow with some
dark magic, mr. Laaban had summoned great steel golem, called Rautajätti, at
the gates of Rautasaari. This huge thing was almost 20 feet tall and wide as
an huge elephant. It seemed almost like it wasn't alive and we thought it was
just some kind of statue. It saw us from miles away and when we got closer, it
slammed his huge fists on the ground and there wasn't anything that we could
do except run from the shockwave. There was no way we could get in from the
gate.
Back at the hideout I could feel the disappointment, maybe even a bit of fear.
Some of us had thought we could just walk in and assasinate Viko silently and
be happy about it and now it seemed there was no way in for us. The walls of
Rautasaari were way too tall for us to climb and the guards would see us
anyway. When darkness grows, the evil lurks in the shadows, so it was also on
this time.
Some of our brothers had mixed a poison so strong that they said could make
you see god. Of course we were suspicious but when they had made plenty of
flasks and many on us had tried it we were convinced. With a group effort,
maybe 20 of us chugged down the drink and started to hallucinate. I could see
my brothers around me chanting language that i didn't know, and before I even
knew, I was chanting it myself. After a while a tiny scorpion appeared in the
middle of us and said: "If you wanna conquer Rautasaari and get rid of Viko
gather enough hearts, specially hearts of humans, make a huge pile of em in
Rautasaari, call for Aelena and you will see it fall. We all woke up confused
but everyone of us had seen the same thing and we knew what we had to do.
So in the coming couple weeks we spared no creature. Even the smallest mammal
hearts were gathered and stored in liquids or jars that keep em fresh. While
some of our brothers were trying to find isolated humans or weak villages to
slay, others were trying to gather intel on how to get atleast couple of us
and the organs inside Rautasaari. It wasn't easy to find isolated or weak
groups of humans, but we found some and also huge group of merchant elfs that
was slain and harvested easily by 2 of our best brothers. Also 3 more of us
also had gotten caught by Vikos groups.
While i was harvesting hearts some brother had interrogated travelling
merchant, that told us that the harbor in Rautasaari was basicly unguarded.
Well it was guarded but specially at nights the guards were usually dead drunk
from the dwarven ales. So now we got a plan. We needed a ship and a merchant
to get us in the harbor.
We actually managed to capture the well known merchant Mor Stor and managed to
poison his mind to work for us. Well there wasn't much work for him to be
done, he just had to get some barrels unloaded at the harbor and keep his
mouth shut while we would hide under the fake bottoms and spices. We had to
gather plenty of herbs also, but it wasn't that big of a job for us, since
almost all of us were masters in botany and had no problems to identify
plants. The spices smell would also cover the smell of the hearts that we had
to keep fresh untill the last moments when we had to put em in the barrels. We
actually promised to spare Mors life for this stuff and didn't tell him what
we were up to, we just told him to get the barrels to Rautasaari and act
normally.
For me it was one of the scaries experiences ever, not maybe for the reasons
you might think like getting caught or Mor Stor saying something to the
guards. I was anxious to see what would happen after we would get all those
hearts inside Rautasaari and call our God. I was the first one to climb out of
the barrel. I helped my brothers and there was no one to be seen. We sneaked
at the guard post at the harbor to find 3 guards, heavily snoring with some
half-drunk bottles on the table. We desided there was no reason for us to kill
em, their time would come soon enough.
There were couple guards walking around at the walls but they were mostly
looking outside and we were already in. I didn't even think it would be this
easy. We rolled almost 4 barrels full of hearts, all kinds of sizes to the
castle courtyard. I wasn't sure if this was enough, none of us were but it had
to be. We placed the barrels upright right next to each other and were ready.
We stood around the barrels, looked at each other and nodded.
We started the chant: "Nox rae mors subita toxicum venenum virus Aelena" "Nox
rae mors subita toxicum venenum virus Aelena" "Nox rae mors subita toxicum
venenum virus Aelena". After the 3rd chant I could feel it, the earth started
to shake, the hearts were boiling and smoking. I guess we had succeeded. The
guards were immediately alert, and made an alarm. Bells started to ring but
not for long since the rumble of the earth was getting way too loud. I started
to run back towards the harbor just to get out. On the way I could hear the
earth make a huge cracking sound. One of the harbor guards had also awoken
from his slumber but he could barely walk and I just gently pushed him and he
tumbled to the ground. I manage to find a small rowboat while 1 of my brothers
had ran bit behind me. We got into the boat and started to row like our life
depended on it, and it kinda did.
We really weren't the guards main problem. The main problem was coming from
the hole on the courtyard. Around 60 feet long tail with a stinger at the end
was swinging wildly and spilling toxic gas and liquid all around. You could
hear them screams of sheer terror. Then another huge crack and you could see
the face of a beautiful woman raising above the walls. She looked angry and I
don't know if she even could look any other way. The screams turned from
terror to coughing and crying while the poisonous cloud spread around. While I
was rowing I could see couple guards running to the harbor from the cloud and
see their eyes and skin melting while they ran blindly around. I bet Viko
couldn't even get out of his bed before he choked and melted. I felt
satisfaction that you can only feel when you kill a parent in front of a
child.
The next thing I remember was like a rumbling of rocks, my brothers later told
me that Rautajätti had fallen to pieces with a single swing. When all the
screams had already went silent the huge banging started and with the banging
the walls started to fall one by one. Cornering guard towers also fell one
after another untill there was only a huge pile of rubble, with a scorpion
tailed woman standing on top of it. Her rampage was finally over. There was my
queen was in all of her beauty. Long black hair, pale skin, black eyes with
red dots that screamed of hate, weird looking suit made of some kind of
leather that I had never seen, but the weirdest part was the tail that was
longer than the woman herself. It was probably over 60 feet tall and
glimmering black. You couldn't really tell if it was made of metal or what.
She seemed like she was waiting for something to happen.
Then all of a sudden something HUGE appeared right next to my queen. It looked
like it just stepped out of the shadows, like if a 200 feet tall figure could
hide in shadows. Looking like a knight in all black, with fire burning inside
of his helm, it looked like something that you wouldn't want to cross paths
with. The figure seemed to shake my queens hand and touch her head like a
priest would do to bless you. Then the queen and figure both disappeared in a
puff of smoke. We can't be for sure but later thought it might have been
Draen-Dalar giving something for our queen.
So that's the story how I met my God, and maybe even another God.
