It was late afternoon when the young bard arrived at the city of
babylon.Hungry and thirsty the bard made his way to the nearest tavern looking
for a meal and bed. The inkeeper gladly accepted the young bards proposal to
provide entertainment for the evening, in exhange for food and bed. As the
bard was eating he though of his mentor who so very long ago had send him on a
quest, to find the knowledge of the ancient bards. The young bard smiled to
himself as he remembered the time he found the secret war tunes, that boosted
men to almost godlike powers. As it was the bard was looking for a place to
spend the night and by a fluke of luck he stumbled upon an noblemans
castle,and the moment he entered the gates,the castle sentrys shouted
alarm.For an invading force was seen on the fields.As the nobleman begged the
bard for help,the nobleman remembered he had some old bardic scriptures
gathering dust in his library.For only bards could read those scriptures,as
the young bard read though the papers he found out that these was the song
lyrics for an ancient battle song, that would bestow men with the powers of
ten men.And so did it happen as the enemy drew nearer the bard started to
sing, with a voice that rivaled that of angels.The castle troops felt their
blood boiling as almost uncontrollable bloodlust took over them,they opened
the gates and charged the nearing enemy.Being momentarily stunned by the
sudden onslaught the enemys ranks broke and they started fleeing in every
direction,to rally their troops.But the defenders did not relent but hunted
them down to the last man,as the nobleman was returning to thank the bard and
reward him with king fortune in gold and jewels, he found the bard gone with
out a trace.As the bard was eating he's bland soup he almost regretted not
staying to get the reward,suddenly a cry came from outside some one was
yelling orc attack! orc attack! The bard swore to himself and quickly took few
more bites at the moldy bread he had. The "orc attack" as it seemed was just
five orcs trying to make a fast plunder run, so the bard took out he's guitar
and started to play a melody that raised and raised, in volume at peak of his
play the bard shouted some weird words and the world bursted into flames.After
regaining their eye sight the villagers looked around for the orcs and the
bard,all the remained of the orcs was piles of dust and the bard could not be
seen anywhere. And again the young bard was on the road,remembering the word
he's mentor gave him those five long years ago,"return only when thou hast
recovered the ancient bardic might".He sighed to himself and continued onward
on the quest that seemed to never end.
