Once upon a time there was a newbie mudder called Dinglevell. This little
newbie didn't have a clue about mudding really, but he went off happily
murdering helpless little priests and monks in a place called the church
anyway. He advanced to level 30 really fast and joined the rangers. He got the
skill bladed fury and everyday would get 2 axes from Damogram's newbie
warehouse or the shops and kill priests and monks. Much time passed and this
little newbie decided that he should venture out of the church and explore the
big city of Bat. Dinglevell found that you could kill most of the citizens of
the city and gain nice exp, so he did, for a very, very, very long time. When
Dinglevell reached level 40 he heard about the newbie mines and was upset to
hear that it was level restricted to level 30. So our little hero newbie
Dinglevell raped the following areas: Bat city, Scout tree, Blorts, Orphanage,
Mages guild and Playground. Dinglevell was very happy and was making, what he
considered, lots of cash and exp.
Dinglevell bought a room in a castle on the east coast of mud. Dinglevell
started investing in chests and proper equipment for his exping needs. He also
bought more rooms to make a nice little house of rooms with chests for each
thing in each of the rooms. He had not clue that you also needs guards to
protect this stuff, and so was thinking that his crystal door was be safe from
any unwanted attention. How wrong could he be! One day he logged on to bat to
find that all his rooms in his castle were totally bare. He had been totally
robbed!
That very same day he received a message from a landlord of another castle
saying that it had a room that was safe from thieves and can be provided for a
small cost each month or lots of cash to own the room. Dinglevell took the
owning option and bought a couple of rooms. Only later didn't he find out that
is was safe from thieves except perhaps landlord thieves. Well Dinglevell
started to rebuild his newbie equipment and chest collections again and
figured that he had only lost about 8 megs of stuff which was not drastic
enough to quit mudding over.
One day Dinglevell met another nice newbie called Mervina together they
totally explored, abused and raped an area for nights on end called Secladin.
Dinglevell had never seen it so good and it opened up his eyes to the
possibilities of partying. But it did not last so long; Dinglevell met another
player by the name of Tisisa. This player took Dinglevell to what he
considered under his wing to help Dinglevell learn exping, or so he may even
have thought. Since then Dinglevell has realised all he was really doing was
using Dinglevell as a tank to go on his cash runs and invariably Dinglevell
died and never saw any of the cash made. Having said that Dinglevell did learn
where there were some cash areas so he was not too worried about the abuse,
Though it did put Dinglevell off of partying again for a very long time. While
cruising around with the newbie abuser Tisisa, Dinglevell came across and area
called Orac and in this area there was exp, cash and solitude to be found a
plenty.
By now Dinglevell had finally regained all of his lost equipment, upgraded it
all and now had a fairly extensive and expensive set to his name. He was again
very happy and would enjoy mudding for weeks and weeks in Orac. But once again
disaster befell our newbie hero, and he was yet again very, very, very,
unhappy. While returning from a 2 week vacation from the Bahamas Dinglevell
was totally dying to mud again and so as soon as he returned home he logged
onto bat and started mudding, alas his jet lag knocked him and he slept until
3 seconds before boot arrived. Dinglevell looked at his computer monitor to
see Armageddon shout 'I will reboot now' and his heart sank and he saw his
character unequal all of his hard worked equipment. Dinglevell almost died his
heart stopped so for long, this time it was no mere 8m equipment set it was
closer to 18m worth of equipment. So a shattered spirited Dinglevell pick
himself up and reinced into Dinglevell the newbie merchant.
Dinglevell spent weeks and weeks mining for other merchants, doing surgeries
and blacksmithing items until he had bought a small offtank set again.
Although he did love being a merchant he decided that he did not have enough
experience to make a good one and he would consider reincing back into a
merchant at another time. So Dinglevell reinced into a ranger again and
started to work on rebuilding his equipment set again. Our little newbie
mudder spent a very long time raping Orac. Dinglevell made it to about level
50 or 60 by the time he heard of another area quite close called Shadow vale.
So our newbie mudder went to investigate, he loved the area it had cash, exp
and many secret parts to explore. He finally restored most of his former
equipment and was beginning to be happy again. These areas kept our newbie
mudder content until about level 75. Then Dinglevell was able to kill the
entire contents of Orac and Shadow vale b4 the other area fully repopped. This
got quite boring for Dinglevell so he turned his eye to other matters like
levelling.
One day Dinglevell was happily bundling exp up into levels when he visit his
guild he found he was second highest ranger and also that he was joint top on
ranger quests. So Dinglevell started to make torches, he kept making torches
for hours, he made more and more torches, he made even more torches, finally
he got bored. Then our newbie ranger decided that no one would know that id he
made a trigger to make just a few torches, so he started the trigger. As you
would probably guess the inactivity led to our newbie mudder falling asleep.
Our newbie mudder woke up a couple of hours later to see 'you have been
disconnected' on his computer screen. Dinglevell scrolled back over the logs
to see that one of the arch wizard of the mud Niz had sent him a couple of
tells in Finnish, then zapped Dinglevell for a few levels and banned him for
31 days, Dinglevell was very sad.

to see that one of the arch wizard of the mud Niz had sent him a couple of
tells in Finnish, then zapped Dinglevell for a few levels and banned him for
31 days, Dinglevell was very sad. Dinglevell put this time to good use though
and move to his secondary mud for a month, he decided is was not quite bat but
it was ok. After Dinglevell's ban was over Dinglevell automatically dived back
to bat, he was anxious to make back the levels he had lost over the stupidity
of roboting and vowed to himself never to be as foolish as to robot again. So
our newbie hero removed all the offending robot triggers from his client, but
he forgot to save the changes. When he got back Landlythria said that he has
to donate 1m to her or be banished from the castle so since Dinglevell had
nowhere else to live and thought his stuff was safe from harm in her castle he
gave the money to Landlythria and got back on with some long awaited mudding.
After a couple hours of exping his computer crashed. Our newbie mudder
rebooted and went back to exping, unknown to him that all his triggers that he
had removed and forgot to save and be reinstated cause he had not saved
changes to his world list. So Dinglevell went on a regen and made a torch
while regening, alas our newbie mudder yet again fell asleep. The trigger once
again took over, while our snoozing newbie mudder hero didn't have a clue that
his world was about to shake because of it. Again after a couple of hours our
newbie mudder hero, Dinglevell, woke up and looked at his screen. This time he
saw he was in hell, he was very sad indeed, last he remembered he was regening
at a city with some 500k+ exp on, he was cursing in his head at some wanker
pker's. He asked for a new body and decided to go to sleep. The he saw his
prompt which said 0 exp. Th is confused the hell out of him for a while and
he started to ask question on bat about how he can loose all of his exp to 1
death. Then came tells of how Dinglevell has been zapped some 40+ times and
was cause of the latest fire works display on Batmud. Dinglevell was very,
very, very, very, sad about this as he didn't know what he had done, as far as
he had seen so far it was nothing. So our newbie mudder started trying to
piece together the clues , he found out that he had been zapped for roboting
torches, but he knew he had removed the triggers earlier that day and was very
confused. Then it struck him, he had had a crash on his computer and he had
not saved the previous changes b4 the crash so they had just been reinstated
to his client from his world list when he rebooted and restarted his client.
This made Dinglevell so sad he was thinking about quitting the mud. Then he
looked into his inventory and saw that he still had his equipment so at least
that was something to keep playing for.
Dinglevell went back to the castle where he had rented a room from a dubious
landlord named Landlythria. He found that all of the guards were aggressive to
him he died and transported to start location. His opened chests had been
taken, so he made 3 guards and built up a room and places the guards in the
lower room, unknown to him that Landlythria had its name on the lower room, so
the guards would not protect Dinglevell's remaining stuff from Landlythria. So
when Dinglevell returned to bat the following morning all of his stuff and the
guards had been taken. This made him even sadder. Luckily for our little
newbie mudder he kept his mithril stash with another mudder so he had access
to cash, Dinglevell built an exchange going upwards. This gave anyone with
navs access to the inside of Landlythria's castle behind all of its massive
guards and created a weak spot within her castle. Finally when Dinglevell
explained that to Landlythria responded to him and that it wanted the rooms
removed, Dinglevell said not until he got his equipment back. After hours of
dinglevell shamelessly begging for his equipment back, trying to win over
Landlythria. It said that the swap could only happen on the conditions that he
1, left the castle 2, paid Landlythria 2m 3, removed his names from all the
rooms and added Landlythria's names and 4, kept quite about the way in which
her defensives could be breeched. So it took place and the swap happened and a
now poorer Dinglevell moved in to another castle with a player who lived in
his own country.
From then on Dinglevell has worked back all his experience and gained more,
has built two castles, now has several equipments sets, has made many new
friends, doesn't solo anymore and is prospering very well and has not had real
tragedies to speak of. Dinglevell feels there are morals to this story that
should be heeded. Dinglevell firstly thinks that you should trust nobody
unless you know them in real life, secondly he considers that you should never
ever robot because it just isn't worth it and thirdly he considers that no
matter how many times bat brings you down, only the weak give up, you will
eventually become victorious.
