Oldbies know...
to type 'inform last' on a regular basis.. to type 'tasks' on a regular
basis.. to read inform AND updates news groups.. newbies.. do not.
When you login, there is a MotD which consists of the LAST line from inform
last. This is immediately thrown off the screen by all the ss MotD's, and
your room desc and whatever else is going on when you login.

In short, it is impossible for a n00b to know what is going on. It would
behoove us all greatly, if the steam n00bs (hi steam n00bs! u!) AND all of
us, were able to see a concise list of events a few HB's AFTER logging in, or
even every time you camp.

I would suggest a nice border with a ^o^ at the top, and entries that expire
appropriately from the MotD.
Suggestions: xmas eve trivia on the 24th, the continent quest task, a mention
of santa in the town square, any current events running, like clones, any
'streaming' events that were not announced anywheere (not that i'm bitter ),
etc.

I hope i was clear enough, but it benefits us all.
