You begin to read the ancient book about dragon bonding.
The ritual is written in an ancient language but somehow you
manage to understand it:
I call the Raven
Black of eye, Black of wing
Lord of Forethought, and Afterthought!
This is the White dawn I conjure, O People
This is The East I conjure
This is Her Living Breath I Conjure
And this is the making of the world
I call The Wolf
Red eyed and White fang
Lord of desire and passion!
This is the Red Noon of Day I conjure, O people!
This is the South I conjure
This is Her Living Blood I conjure
and this is the Making of the World
I call the Silkie
Seal of the Sea, Woman of the Land
Lady of Mystery and Transformation
This is the Blue Twilight I conjure, O People!
This is The West I conjure
This is Her Living Blood, I Conjure
And this is The Making of the World
I call The Dragon
Old and Grim, Mountain Bones
Lord of Strength and Power!
This is The Midnight Hour I conjure, O People!
This is The North I conjure
This is Her Living Body I conjure
And this is the Making of the World
Come for the Bond That is yet Unbroken
Come for the Sake of Kinship
Fire to Air
Air to Breath
Breath to Woman
Woman to Man
When the two are made one
The Earth is made whole
Ancient Ones, Old ones
Rules of The Elemental Realms
You who are With us
I call The Dragon
Old and Grim, Mountain Bones
Lord of Strength and Power!
Come for the Bond That is yet Unbroken
Come for the Sake of Kinship
A draconian is a very special being that is created via a ritual where a human
bonds with a dragon. This ritual grants, if successful, great power and nigh
immortality to the human performing it. The transfiguration is painstakingly
difficult and takes months to complete, but as it progresses, the human
gradually blends together with the dragon and his physical appearance changes
to be more and more dragon-like.
Very few real draconians are known to exist in the world. A common
misunderstanding is that baaz, bozak, sivak, aurak and kapaks are draconians.
A fully developed draconian looks more like a dragon than a human. They have
heavy bodies, reptilian snouts and a thick tails similar to lizards. Often
these creatures even start walking on four legs instead of two, though they
still retain the use of their hands without difficulty.
The kind of draconian you become heavily depends on what dragon you bond with.
This bond has to be nourished continuously, lest the draconian lose their
powers. Despite their origins, not all draconians are bound to the path of
evil. There are neutral and even good aligned specimens, but the bond they
share with the source of their power has can have a subtle warping influence
.. slowly causing them to drift towards bitterness and even psychosis. Perhaps
for this reason many draconians develop crude behavior and perverse desires as
personality traits.
