Harpies are avian creatures with characteristics of a human female and a bird of prey. Their raptor talons and powerful voice serve as effective natural weapons. Harpy young are rare and hatch from eggs. The fledglings are bound to their nest until they learn to fly, which they do sooner than average birds. They quickly learn how to survive and defend themselves following their mothers example. Harpies generally keep to themselves and build their nests in the mountains far away from civilization. While they consider everyone else as enemies by default and are known for just taking what they want without bothering to negotiate, it is not unheard of that they on occasion seek allies for more perilous adventures.
