BatMUD shall have extended downtime Today starting at 12:00 EET (in 11 hours 30 minutes). Expected length of downtime (from boot) is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. Reason: Taking new all-flash hardware into use to run the main game server.
BatMUD game server had a <2 hour outage Today caused by a configuration mistake during preparationary work of moving BatMUD to the new hardware. The situation was quickly normalized as the root cause was found. Please accept our apologies for the lost gaming time.
We have submitted BatMUD into the Steam Greenlighting-process. If you have an account on Steam, please vote 'YES' for us to get accepted. Steam -> Community -> Greenlight -> Most recent / BatMUD. Thank You.
Updated versions of our game client are now available at http://www.bat.org/play/batclient for Windows, Mac and Linux. These versions include speed optimizations and are playable for the next 3 months. (Yes, we aim to fix the expiration issue very soon.)
B.A.T. ry has Today ordered new server hardware for running BatMUD. The new machine will be accompanied with e.g. double the amount of processor cache, all-flash storage and it enables actual BatMUD game server (the virtual machine) to be run fully inside RAM chips (as an in-memory operation).
