Physical wealth is the driving force behind virtually every single day-to-day activity the normal person participates in. Without wealth, even basic needs, such as shelter, clothing, and food are difficult to obtain. Many people require larger amounts of wealth then they can afford to gather at once, to make large purchases, such as plots of land, or other expensive items. This gives those who are able to accumulate these large amounts of capital, a chance to lend them to others, to be payed back over time, at a premium.
