The hides of many animals is useful for making different garments,
and in some cases, soft types of armour. Once a kill is made, skinning
must begin before the corpse rots. The insides of the animal must be
removed and then the hide cleaned. The hide is then cleaned, it may be
treated at this point, and cut into the desireable shape. Finishing the
hide may involve more shaping, stretching and cutting, or adding some
features, such as straps and buttons. After all this is done, the
resulting work is ready for use.
