In general, a riding warrior is capable of faster movement than one on the ground. Even with heavy armour and weapons, they can move in and out of their pedestrian opponents, striking and evading at will. This skill aids the control a mounted combatant has over their mount, allowing for tighter turns and quicker escapes. In practice, it allows an experienced user to strike at opponents in the rear protected ranks of a group. Higher skill allows more targets to be attacked, but it should be noted that small parties defend themselves better against this sort of attack than larger ones. This skill also enables a rider to strike from further back in the party, assuming they are along one side of the party and not trapped in the center.
