The seas are dangerous places, and losing brave sailors is not uncommon. It is thus no surprise that ship crews and their families began to turn to their religious leaders for blessings to help protect them on long voyages. It took a while for the priests to convert their skills in blessing individuals to something that would be effective for whole ships; but they succeeded, and this spell is the result.
