Fighting to stay awake this afternoon in spite of having put down too much caffeinated pop already. Down to clock watching and surfing fark.com to kill the rest of the afternoon. Still waiting on a coworker to get his test update implemented so we can work towards a solution on the customer problem. Starting to see what sort of computer I can buy at a reasonable price for home use. If that happens, you'll be seeing a lot more of me in the evenings here on Bat. Not sure if this is a Good Thing (tm), but what the hell. Weekend plans are going to heavily depend on the weather. Talking rain chances tomorrow, which is not good news. I wanted to work outside all weekend getting closer to the end of the wood splitting job. I just hope the rain holds off till the late afternoon so I can get one good day in. That way I can lay around Sunday in pain instead. Also, got my W-2 form in the mail this weekend, so I'll be working on the taxes. Here's to hoping I get a nice return! Chatting with Boot today about politics and it made me realize just how cynical I must sound about our political system here in the US. Not only have I stopped caring, but it is now to the point that I'm amazed when anything truly altruistic occurs due to govt. involvement. For every govt. decision made, I try to figure how out some corporation or person is going to profit that influenced the outcome. I feel bad for Boot, for she wants to fix the system and make it work the way it was intended. And it is frustrating to her that she has to overcome corruption on one side, and cynics like myself if anything is to happen. I feel she is taking on the "impossible dream" of Don Quioxte (sp?). Tilt a windmill for me! 8)
