Taking advantage of a slow work day on a Monday morning to get my blog entry in. I didn't get as much accomplished this weekend as I had planned. Saturday had the rain come early and then it stayed around the entire day. I guess I can't complain, because we could use the moisture. According to the climatologists, our subsoil moisture is pretty low right now. So, instead of working outside, I got my tax information ready to go. Sunday I went and slogged through the muddy field picking up leftover blocks that the loggers left behind from the most recent timber sale. Most of the wood was walnut (3 trailer loads) with a partial load of oak. Now I remember why I rather deal with tops, as trunk blocks are heavy, especially when they are still green. Fortunately, walnut is less dense than oak so it wasn't as heavy as it could have been if they were all oak. I'll have to let those blocks sit for the summer before I split them. Then my brother and his girlfriend showed up an hour after I had finished my work with the wood. I got my shearing for the winter season from my bro's girlfriend. I think I'm down a half pound or at least it would appear so from all of the brown with a dash of silver piles on the kitchen floor. So not bad, got a few things accomplished this weekend. If the weather is good next weekend, I should have more opportunity to work on the wood pile. In other news, I'm bored at work today. It is one of those rare times where I am completely out of work. I hate this situation, as I'm forced to charge time on projects without making meaningful progress. It just goes against my work ethic, but there is little I can do at the moment about it. So here I sit, surfing and mudding. If it wasn't for the guilt, I'd be a happy man. Got a headache going today. Must be the low pressure system in the area. One of the genetic quirks I inherited from my Mom. Fortunately, I don't get the frequency and severity of headaches that she gets, but I am definitely susceptible to changing weather conditions. So yeah, it is going to be one of those type of days for me. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I went ahead and beat Kingdom Hearts Friday evening. Bleah, sucky ending for a game that I didn't exactly enjoy (see earlier posting). Considering playing Growlancer Generations or X-men Legends next. Still working on that home PC purchase. Still waiting for that "I can't pass that up" type of deal. Worried I'll get sucked into WoW if I do get a home machine though. Temptation is there, I can not deny. Well, at least I don't have a hobby that is as expensive as dirt track racing. My brother was constantly talking about this and that and price tags associated with each selection. I guess a grand or 2 for a PC is chump change compared to that hobby. Ah well, I had better wrap up the rambling for now. Entry brought to you by Audioslave "Hypnotize" and Dt.
