Missed yesterday's blog entry due to a sudden upswing in the work load. I
ended up running behind that I needed to leave to get to the gym in time for
an abs class. With Lent starting tomorrow, I've been enjoying a couple of the
things I'll be giving up. I'm going to miss the Kit Kat's and pizza and
fries. 8( Yeah, it is a dual duty Lenten sacrifice. Giving up rich foods
will help me drop a couple of pounds as well as the spiritual effort the
sacrifice it is to entail. So, 40 days and 40 nights I'll be in self-denial.
I'm already looking forward to Easter, sigh.

Work has picked up due to two customer support issues and a software release
that got started this week. I happily welcome the extra work, as I was
spending far too much time on Bat for my liking the last 2 weeks. By Friday
night, my fingers and hands were aching from all of the typing. I'm just
can't do those 10+ hour Bat days for long lengths of time any longer. 8(

Spent the past weekend in town. Weather wasn't great for working outside on
Sat. So, the roomie and I hit the gym and did a long lifting session. I'm
getting closer on my new year's goal for bench press. Got 9 on the first
bench press set for 225. I'm thinking another couple weeks and I'll get to
10. My endurance is shot after that though, as I drop down to 4 and 5 reps on
the subsequent sets though. I even got 720+sled for 10 reps on the hip sled.
The only downside to doing that weight, my legs have been sore since. Sun.
and Mon. it was hard for me to walk up stairs. I'm still a bit sore yet
today. Shesh!

Sat. afternoon I bopped around and picked up some used music CD's and a little
shopping. Hit evening church, then went out with a couple friends to catch a
bar band. This one has a friend of friends playing the drums in it. They are
alright, nothing special considering they are a cover band. Too bad the bar
was soo smoky though. We all complained about it on the way home. If Cedar
Rapids had a smokeless bar I'd bethere. Seems everyone who goes out drinking
feels the need to smoke, a lot. Bleah!

Sunday I slept in late, hit the gym for an hour of cardio walking on the
treadmill, and then bummed the rest of the day. I won't have too many more
Sundays like that with the calendar turning towards spring. Already I am
noticing the daylight in the mornings when I wake and in the evenings when I
leave work. The snow from our latest storm is mostly gone again. About time
for the next major storm to roll in.

Time to roll out to the gym and get cardio in tonight. Tonight's blog brought
