Oh and also: 1986 The Color of Money vs Manhunter -> Manhunter 1995 Casino vs Heat, a tight one but again Mann with his epic masterpiece -> Heat And now with the last great film of 2006 seen, the top films are: 1) Miami Vice by Michael Mann 2) The New World by Terrence Malick (2006 here in Finland) 3) Munich by Steven Spielberg (also 2006 here) 4) The Departed by Martin Scorsese 5) Hmm... Silent Hill by Christophe Gans. I guess you could argue it wasn't "good" in the traditional sense, but it sure was hellish to say the least and it stayed with me. Been having nightmares of some of the stuff there, so it definitely deserves a mention. The biggest surprise of the year. So that was 2006. Let's see what the next year brings. Until then I'll probably go and see the new Bond film, hopefully it'll entertain the hell out of me because so far I've never(!) seen a Bond film in a theatre.
