You light the powder and it explodes in an ear deafening blast!
You are on the roof of a large tent, situated near the center of the circus.
This is already pretty high up, and the fabric you're standing on moves
alarmingly as the wind sways the tent's structure. The sights are quite
impressive from this altitude too, and you enjoy watching scores of children
and their parents running about erratically down below. The tent's roof would
extend further to each cardinal point but you dare not venture any further
from the center of the tent, as the roof becomes rather slanted and shaky
further away. There is a post protruding from the tent's roof here, and a
small ladder has been attached to it, probably by the circus' acrobats to
provide a way here and back.
Above you is a warm, still, clear sky.
Obvious exit is: down.
