My new drawing class started last night. I had a blast. I was feeling kind of drained from work, but the class really picked up my spirits. As normal I left class in a sort of hyper-stimulated high. There is a new teacher. His style and focus is definitely different, but I want to go in with an open mind and soak in all he has to offer. I think overall this has potential to be a very good class. For the first time there are more men than women in the class. And it should be an interesting dynamic. We are a diverse lot. There is an engineering professor, concert pianist, architect, high school student, and 2 people who I'm not sure there professions yet. The cute guy in class is the 10th grade high school student, so I have to watch my thoughts. :) We have to keep a weekly journal for class, our thoughts in visual format. Homework! whoah. I think it will be good, I need to do more drawing outside of class so this will be a good motivator. The other big thing is that I usually drawing on largish format in charcoal, so I will be trying to do more pencil drawing. I'm excited, spirits high. And tonight is boxing at the gym, so the fun continues. Boxing and yoga have been my primary gym activities. I need to get bac into the rhythm of going to karate on Saturday morning, but with the time change to even earlier in the morning and just general summer busy I have been lax about going.
