Better get caught up to date before I forget. Last weekend was Father's Day weekend. Friday evening, folks, my sister and my oldest niece, all went to the races at Farley to catch my brother racing again. Due to their starting system based on point totals, my brother got to start at the back of the pack and finally capture the lead on lap 9 out of 10. He hung on to win in a great race by him. On a funny note, the previous Sun. evening he got wrecked pretty bad in a race, so he ended up borrowing the sheet metal from another car for this race. He ended up running under a different number which confused the announcers a bit. On Saturday, the folks and I did our trek up to Prairie Du Chien, Wisc. for the annual Rendevous Days which I've elaborated upon in previous year's blog entries. Same get up, although I did have to punch in some new belt holes for the customer due to my loss in weight, which was nice. Warm morning gave way to rainy weather by lunch time. We ended up grabbing a quick lunch and then headed home to beat out the rain. Sunday, folks and I went fishing below the damn on the Mississippi in Guttenburg. Mom caught more, but I caught better quality with a nice 3lb catfish and a couple of sheephead for fillets. Otherwise, we caught several bass that were too small to legally keep. Warm and sunny with a good breeze to make it tolerable. I got lucky on my catfish catch, we just got it into the net when the line for my hook broke. Another minute or two later and I would've had just another fishing story about the one that got away. After a pizza lunch, we headed home for a nap, cleaned the fish, and then a pleasant grilling of some ribeye steaks. Yum! Busy week at work, spending too much time dealing with customer issues, not enough time on my project work. *sigh* Deadlines approaching next month too. 8( Weighed in was at 168, which is "ok". No decline, no gain for the week. Donated blood yesterday, so I'm hoping that will help drop a pound. *wink* Although, I did eat 4 free cookies afterwards, so I prolly put on a pound instead. But it was for a good cause! No races this Friday night due to large amounts of rain overnight which carried on through the morning hours. Looks like we may get some more here before the evening plays out. I'll still head back home this weekend, although I should stick around and work. However, it is Edgewood Days this weekend, and I may try to go to the demolition derby on Sun.Actually, I'm sort of bummed/elated, now I don't get a chance to see if the interesting gal at the races last week was going to be there again this weekend. Yeah, that's right, bummed/elated, and this is prolly why I'm still single. Damned nervousness and anticipation, my introvert nature is in conflict with my meeting women goal.
