Been a long work week. My last full week of work before the end of the fiscal year end here at Collins. Punched out 2 quals this week as well as a fast update due to an oversight in the release process on another product. Turns out, I corrupted the build that was submitted for release. Fortunately, it isn't a HUGE deal, but still. I swear, that program is cursed, just nothing ever goes right. Last Sat., Don and I decided we were going to do the insulation of our attic work. Stopped into first store, blower and insulation available, rental truck to haul said items, not available. Go to the other store, truck and insulation is a go, no blower till the next day. We said screw it, got the insulation hauled at least done. I then mowed my yard, then went over to Don's to watch the Iowa-Iowa St. football game. Jumped out to a 12-0 lead at half time. Then it turned into a nail biter at the end with a last second field goal to win 15-13. Great game, glad we got to watch it instead of blowing insulation. Sunday, we pick up the blower. Heavy old thing, took both Don and I to lift it into my little truck bed. By 9am, we were off and running. I ran the top end blowing the insulation around in the attic. Don stayed down to feed the hopper. Very dirty job, but really isn't so bad once you get going. Lesson learned, don't let the hose drop into the insulation or else you'll plug up the line. That took us 20 min. to clear out. After 2 hours, we had insulation done at my place and were over to Don's. It took us an hour to get ready and then 90 min to blow it up. I decided to stay up top at his place. Unfortunately, unlike my attic where I could stand up, Don's I had to stay in a crouch the entire time. By 2pm, we were returning the blower and a good job was wrapped up. I got an additional 9 in. of insulation up in my attic, and I can tell the difference in the morning by how much warmer it stays. Don got 6-7 in. additional, and he noticed the difference as well. So, for 200 bucks each and a weekend, hopefully we should get returns on our investment that will cover that cost in a few years. Or less if gas prices jump up for heating again. Looking ahead, I have 3 days of vacation left to use this month. Talking pleasant fall weather next week, so I'll be out Wed-Sun. Also, this weekend is looking good, prolly go fishing one day with the folks. Maybe I'll finally relax enough to sleep more than 6 hours a night. Been stressed with the work, so waking up early and can't get back to sleep. Oh yeah, finished Rogue Galaxy for the PS2. It is an average game in my opinion versus the 9/10 ratings I was seeing. I guess I just don't enjoy having to hit attack and jump buttons in my RPG games. I prefer the old style of select from a menu and move around a map style. Put in Ar Tonelico into the PS2 for the next game. Looks really old school in terms of game play, so I hope I'll enjoy it more. Ah well, tired and out of motivation for the week. Got a few small things to do early next week. Today's blog brought to you by "Harder Better Faster Stronger" Daft Punk.
