Way, way, waaaay, behind on the blogging. Catch up mode engaged. When we last left our hero, he was looking ahead to X-mas break. Well, that time has come and past I'm afraid. Got home ahead of a major snow storm on the 23rd. Was snowed in till the snow plow could get a lane open late on the 24th. Had 6 foot high drifts in places. Dad and I took pics next to them. I ended up getting a dump freezer from the folks, clothes from my sis, and gloves and misc. from my brother. No luck at the scratch tickets Dad gave out this year. 4 bucks out of 25 tickets. Came back before the next storm. Ended up spending New Year's eve over at Wade's place. Had a meal and then played poker till 1:30 am. Did fairly well, even with no money involved. Helps when half of the group had never played before. Otherwise, been playing the daylights out of Dragon Quest 8. I should be through with the game in a few more weeks, if not sooner. Nice game, but I am ready to move on. I've pretty much got the plot figured out, now just playing to see if I'm correct or not. Bad news on the gym front. Gained like 5 more pounds in the last couple of weeks. Partly because I have been lifting weights more seriously again, partly because of all of the home cooking I've been eating. Sigh, time for a hard diet to lose those pounds. Truly sucks, since I was regularly exercising the entire time too, but the scale and fat don't lie. So, I'm feeling pretty blue about the extra weight. No date prospects either. Work has been slow, at best. Guess this is what we would call the winter time blues. I'll just have to work through it. On the plus side, watched and then read up the manga for Claymore. Love, love it. Watching Elfen Lied now, mixed emotions. Good storyline, just that I don't like the lead protagonist character of Nyuu/Lucy. Ah well, gives me something to pass the time with as I wait for the next round of Bleach and Naruto. Got hooked on Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (Good-bye Mr. Despair). Waiting for the rest of the subs to come out. Just a riotout anime in the vein of FLC Also, would highly recommend Melancholy of Haruhi as well. Watched that last year. So, what are my new year's resolution? Same as last year I'm afraid, get better at some weights, lose some weight, get a date and try to find love. Simple, no? Wish me luck in the new year of '08.
