Freaking cold. I mean, the weather outside, not any sickness that is. -15F
this morning. The cold weather this past weekend almost kept the folks and I
from attending my brother's racing awards banquet. Fortunately, the wind
chills stayed to a tolerable -20F on Sat. evening. But I am getting ahead of
myself. Sat. morning, I hit the gym, then drove home to the farm. Caught
some lunch, a nap, and then evening mass with the folks. Afterwards, we drove
to Farley to my brother's place. From there, we went to the ballroom where
the evening dinner and awards were being hosted. Meal was fine, although for
22 bucks a head, it had better be. Afterwards was the awards ceremony. We
got to watch my brother accept his plaque and winner jacket for his track
championship for his car class at the Farley track. I managed to get a couple
of photos snapped. My brother was so happy, he clutched his jacket in his
arms most of the evening. Sunday, too cold to go outside, so I stayed in and
slept a lot.

Work this week has been, meh. A few customer support requests, a few internal
investigations, nothing too exciting. I'm still a few weeks away from the
next big release. I am just putting in my 40 these weeks. Also, I am looking
forward to spring weather so I can get back outside on weekends again.

Made some progress on weight loss and then lost most of the progress after the
past weekend of eating too much and laying about. Weighed in last night at
178. *sigh* I need the warmer weather so I can get back outside and be
mobile instead of sitting inside with the food temptation. The additional
pounds has been depressing me a bit. It really sucks that I can't enjoy most
foods again. Constantly worried about gaining weight. Oh, how I miss ye ice
cream, pizza, chips, cookies, cakes, pies, cupcakes, donuts, muffins, sugared
cereal, pasta, etc., etc. The one positive is that my weight lifting is a bit
better than it has been in the past. Silver linings and all that eh.
