A series of quick statements to keep the blog up to date. Past weekend, spent the entire day of Saturday inside due to wind and cool temps. Sis was over with her family and it was almost like a family reunion. Yesterday was much better weather. Dad and I sorted some cattle out to be put in the small yards around the farm. Then, I went out and pulled out an ancient pull-behind combine and car frame out of the dump for my brother to cut up for scrap metal. Right now, scrap iron is worth big money. Dad had pulled out another old car earlier. I almost got stuck trying to pull the combine up the hill due to the ongoing wet conditions of the fields due to rains every 2-3 days. I had to use 3 lengths of chains to get far enough out of the soft spot and gain good enough footing to pull the combine into the yard. Then, I went mushroom hunting and had a little luck. I managed to find 2, then 1, then a few dozen of the gray mushrooms out in the pasture. Upon my return to the farm, Dad took one look at them and immediately stopped mowing the yard and tore off for his hunting patches. He ended up doing as well as me, and together we had enough for a meal beings as the early season ones are so small. Talking warm weather today and tomorrow, so I am hoping next weekend will be a better yield. Spent the previous weekend back at the farm as well. Worked on putting firewood away for winter. Also, went out with folks and met my brotherand his girlfriend for pizza. Otherwise, finally got the thumping problem resolved on my truck. Turned out, the ball joints on the truck frame were going bad, and got those replaced. So far, alternator, fan belt, ball joints, and windshield washer pump have been replaced. I am having the fuel gauge looked at next, as that is the last known thing wrong with the truck. Closing in on a thousand bucks in repairs though. 8( Oh well, still cheaper than a new vehicle by far. Sometimes you just have to pay the upkeep and live with it. Job is slowly grinding along. I am just waiting for the work to run out so I can't change teams and get away from doing customer support all the time. And just for you Zarman, I'm still no closer to buying a home PC. 8)b Tonight's blog entry brought to you by KLF - Doctoring the Tardis.
