Whoops, time has kindof slipped by since my last blog entry. Time for the bum rush of catch-up. Past week was just painful at work. Got a customer that is way behind schedule and when things go wrong, they blame our radio first. So far, we've been finding cabling issue. Go figure. *sigh* No one ever believes me when I say, 'the radio just doesn't do that, you are doing something stupid'. Previous week, I had to travel down to visit aforementioned customer on site. Travel was ok. Hotel accomodations sucked, as I was stuck on a floor with a bunch of high school kids. Little bastards were up all hours of the night, slamming doors, talking and playing cards in the hallway, and other stuff to ensure I got only a few hours of sleep both nights I was there. Top top things off, I had to wake up at 4:30 am local time to get ready for my 7 am flight. Mix in maintenance working on electrical stuff at 10pm and brown tap water, and well, the less said the better. The other annoying point of the trip was that I could have supported the customer via telephone for 88% of the stuff I had to do down there. Attending meetings, and more meetings, sit on my butt and wait for people to get out of meetings. Just pretty dumb. Now, the week prior to that (week leading up to Memorial Day) was much better, I took vacation. Stayed up on the farm and got a lot of stuff done. Went out hunting the first day off, and managed to get close to two bread sacks worth of the big yellows. Was a poor year for mushrooms, had the wetness, but never got the heat. Has been a very cool and wet and late spring this year. Over the next several days, Dad and I got the rest of this coming winter's firewood split and stacked away in the shed to keep it dry. I also went out to disc down the corn plot for the CRP acres and managed to run over a deer antler that punctured my right rear tractor tire. 8( 8( So, while my tractor was out of commission, the folks and I went to Guttenburg to enjoy some pizza in the park by the lock and dam on the Mississippi. After the tire repair, I was back in the timber hauling more firewood for the coming years. On Memorial Day weekend, Sunday to be exact, my cousin and aunt from Pheonix, Arizona were back in Iowa to visit the family. They wanted to put on a meal, so my folks decided to host it. Great idea, good execution, unfortunately, Mother Nature decided to send an F-5 and an F-3 tornado and a line of severe storms which knocked out the power for us for a few hours and freaked out a couple people. Luckily, no damage for us besides lots of fields flooding. However, Parkersburg wasn't so lucky, and got nailed with the F-5 and the town was pretty much a loss. So, this weekend I am staying in town. Time for some laundry, headed out to buy those digital converter boxes for the folks and my tv's, hit the gym, and a few other planned shopping trips tomorrow as well as wrapping up Xenosaga ep 3. I on the final chapter, and should be close to being done tonight if I don't run into something that I can't kill. Starting to look at the collection, and making the decision as what to play next. Looking at Makai Kingdom or Baroque. I'll give my final report on the series in my next blog entry. Well, time to a little work wrap-up before I head out to the church and hopefully avoid the rain storms popping up in the area. Tonight's blog brought to you by Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter.
