I just read an article about golf. Did you know that "some 9.5 billion litres of water are used DAILY to keep greens green - enough to meet the needs of four-fifths of the Earth's population for a day"? If that's not shocking enough, I'm happy to tell you that US army has 161 golf courses around the world (for example in Mosul, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba) and the money to keep them green comes from US taxpayers. At the moment Pentagon is planning a 5 billion usd tourism center inside the Green Zone in Baghdad, including shopping malls, hotels and a golfing resort. Just sad.
