What, another month gone by already? Well, time to rectify the lack of blog
by mentioning my total lack of getting much done in RL besides work, sleep,
gym, wash, rinse, repeat. Watching the economy tank is sure "fun". My 401k
is now worth less than if I had taken the money and put it in a jar. That
even with considering the stock that the company kicks in for matching. Just
sad. However, I am in good shape now with the house paid off and the farm
land rented out for the year for more than the farm payment will be. Just
hope the renters can pay up.

The only big excitement in my life is my new truck I bought last fall. I had
been noticing two problems, the transmission would "slip" when shifting up
when it was really cold, and that there was too much vibration when I would
drive about 65. So, a couple of weekends ago, I checked the transmission
fluid and found it black and smelled burnt. Took it home, and got it checked
by dealership. Turns out, the transmission was going and since my truck was
under warranty, I would be getting a new or newly rebuilt transmission. The
only downside, it would take a few weeks for the new transmission to show up.
So, finally last Friday, the truck was finished and my parents have it now.
I'll let them drive it and see if everything is working as it should. I'm
also hoping the fuel economy will improve a bit with a better transmission.

Back to the economy, layoffs have been announced a few times around here, but
I'm sitting pretty safe for the moment. We'll see what 18 months will bring.
In fact, I'm darn busy with about 4-5 projects at any one time. As soon as I
get a couple of these off my back, I have a couple more waiting for me to get
to them. whee. Too bad I don't get paid overtime any more. 8( Guess I stay
busy and hang on while the world gets flushed a bit.

Still playing Odin's Sphere and found it fun, at first. Too bad everything is
so recycled when playing through the next couple of characters storyline just
to get to the story end. I am on the last character, Velvet, and can't wait
to the end so I can go on to something new. Nice game, but far too repetitive
(and this is from a guy that loves RPG's!). Trying to decide if I want to go
back and grind the 2nd half of Okami or move on to one of the other 20 games
sitting around waiting for me.

Finally getting some of the winter weight off. Seems that Lent is a great
time for that to happen for me. Weighed in at 172 this morning, and I want to
get back down to mid-160's by April. At least this time my strength is not
dropping off so fast. I may be finally zero-ing in on my body's ideal point.
I just want to cut back on my gym time a bit for other things. Just sucks to
go 3-4 times a week just to maintain.

Welp, back to grinding the xp on Bat. Tonight's blog brought to you by Fun
