Ok, sorry I've missed my 1/month blog update. Been HUGEly busy at work the past month+. Working on programs that had some seriously tight deadlines. It got to the point, I stopped playing Bat for a couple of weeks while I worked through it all. Still plenty busy, but I'm to the point I can play an hour or 2 now and again. Good time to be busy, with all of the layoffs and rumors of more layoffs in the coming July. Just got done with the Memorial Day weekend. Work gave us an extra day off instead of Good Friday. So, a 4 day weekend and I spent it doing the following. Saturday morning, I went out and tried morel hunting one last time. A little luck, but the ground was fairly dry and was pretty late in the season. Fortunately, we had some left in the fridge from my previous 2 weekends worth of hunting. I had an awesome year in mushroom hunting. Got over 2 breadsacks each weekend. I hit a spot that all I saw were yellow mushrooms and got a breadsack worth. Best find for me ever! Anyways, I did that Sat., and then the folks and I hit church. Sunday, Dad and I cleaned the cattle shed out while we got the opportunity to borrow the neighbor's skid loader. In the afternoon, my great aunt Elmeda stopped over along with my sis and 2 of her kids for the last of the morels and some BBQ by Dad. Monday, the folks and I tried our hand at fishing by the Mississippi in Guttenburg. Once again, our neighbors from up the road showed up by our spot. Last weekend, we were fishing at the same spot and they parked next to us. Anyways, fishing was poor again, (wind out of the east, cloudy and cool weather). It sure hasn't felt like late spring around here lately. Today, the folks and I went to the new casino in Dubuque to check it out. While Mom and I were puttering with video poker, Dad got a nice hit on a 5 dollar machine, and then got a nice smaller hit later on to finish way, way up. In fact, he hit it about 10 minutes there, and about 60 minutes later, he was ready to leave so he wouldn't spend too much. Hit and run gambling basically. Unfortunately, Mom had no luck though, and from the looks of things, not too many people were either. Otherwise, I've played through Baroque. Ok game, storyline made almost no sense as the motivation of the main character was unclear as the ending unfolded. Kindof a DOOM like clone, and fortunately it was relatively short (about 20 hours), otherwise the grind would have been pretty bad. Started playing Dark Cloud, since I've never played the game, but have had it for years. Hope the storyline picks up soon, otherwise I'll get tired of what this game has to offer. Oh well, I'm tired and it is late. Put on a couple pounds, up to 175 8(. Darn hard hours and too much home cooking on the weekends. I'm hoping to cut them down a bit in the coming weeks.
