Had a breakthrough yesterday at work. For the last few weeks, I had been chasing a bug for this upcoming software release. Well, it turned out it wasn't a software bug, it was a hardware bug. Turns out the lab tech. put the pins in the wrong order . So, due to someone screwing up placing 2 out of 3 total pins, I ended up chasing a ghost for 3 weeks of holiday, weekend, and 3rd shift hours. Yes, I'm happy the problem is found, and yes I'm irked by the stupid problem. I even managed to go to bed at a decent time last night for once. I still have some more issues to work through, but those don't seem to be a big deal at the moment. As for my ongoing truck saga. I was informed by the dealer that my front left seal was going out on my truck. So, last weekend I took my truck home to my local mechanic to do the work. An hour later, we get a call informing me that the seals were just fine. Once again, it pays to get a second opinion from someone you trust. So much for morality these days. Otherwise, spent the weekend out on the farm resting up for the week ahead. Helped Dad with castrating 5 bulls into steers. You'd never know there was a mad cow crisis out in the country. Live cattle prices have rebounded and are actually higher than they were before the scare. I guess farmers have short memories. There are going to be some burnt buyers sooner or later as the market won't support these dollar+/pound cattle prices. Oh yeah, I even dragged out the log splitter for a few hours of fun and frivolity and back soreness at the wood pile. I'm just living the high life. 8) Shoutout to Garou!
