Eureka *light bulb* stun Those moments in life that you feel changed, your understanding of life expanded. In highschool I had an english teacher, Mr. Poirot, who made me appreciate english. I was in honors english, but I didn't appreciate the subject, I found it cold and static. He taught class in an unconventional way. The class was divided into 4 sections, we had reading assignments, each day a different section had papers due (Fridays Mr. Poirot had a paper due), one person from the section would read their paper aloud, and there would be discussion. The discussion didn't have to discuss the paper and often meandered in random directions though that was the theoretical jumping off point. The papers could be about anything as long as it was in some way tied to the book we were reading. I didn't feel bound by "discuss the significanace of water in the book' or 'explain the role of friendship over the course of the story' or 'how is religion significant in each of the characters lives.' I could write about what moved me and I learned appreciation of literature. Blue Highways by William Least Heat Moon, I still remember the book, the paper, reading it in front of the class, the discussion that followed, and the moment.
