a large leafless tree

It is a large tree, in its wintery leafless form. One can only wonder what
makes this tree so special in a forest of other trees. Maybe it is the common
history -- knowing that the tree grew from a seed to a seedling to a sapling
and so on, to this large tree. Maybe one day it will be huge, but that will
require many winters, or anything but winters. It is an apple tree, and by the
looks of it, it was planted twenty five years ago.
