Here is the initial Node.js implementation of the parse_input() command
router.

This code acts as the central nervous system of the state machine. It
maintains the memory topography we designed and uses a simple, synchronous
switch statement to route commands, making it ideal for a REPL loop or an AI
tool-calling interface.

const fs = require('fs'); const crypto = require('crypto'); // 1. Initialize
Default State (Matches our JSON Schema) let state = { identity:
`MACHINE#${crypto.randomBytes(3).toString('hex')}`, timestamp: Date.now(),
environment: "VOID", mission: { macro: "", sub: "", micro: "" }, inventory:
{}, conceptual_memory: {}, local_cache: {} }; // Helper: Generate a
Universally Routable ID function generateId(prefix) { return `${prefix.toUpperC
ase()}#${crypto.randomBytes(3).toString('hex')}`; } // 2. The Core Command
Router function parse_input(raw_string) { if (!raw_string || raw_string.trim()
=== '') return; // Update internal clock on every action state.timestamp =
Date.now(); const parts = raw_string.trim().split(/\s+/); const cmd =
parts[0].toLowerCase(); const args = parts.slice(1); switch (cmd) { // ---
MEMORY & INVENTORY --- case '/concept': // Usage: /concept [ALL_CAPS_TERM] if
(!args[0]) return console.log("Error: Provide a concept term."); const term =
args[0].toUpperCase(); state.conceptual_memory[term] = { last_seen:
state.timestamp, hits: 1 }; console.log(`[Concept] Stored volatile memory:
${term}`); break; case '/mint': // Usage: /mint [CONCEPT_TERM] if (!args[0])
return console.log("Error: Provide a concept to mint."); const conceptToMint =
args[0].toUpperCase(); const newId = generateId(conceptToMint);
state.inventory[newId] = { acquired_at: state.timestamp, status: "active" };
// Remove from volatile memory if it existed if (state.conceptual_memory[concep
tToMint]) { delete state.conceptual_memory[conceptToMint]; } console.log(`[Mint
ed] Instantiated ${conceptToMint} -> ${newId} into Inventory.`); break; case
'/inventory': console.log(`
[Inventory for ${state.identity}]`); if (Object.keys(state.inventory).length
=== 0) console.log(" (Empty)"); for (const [id, meta] of Object.entries(state.i
nventory)) { console.log(` - ${id} [Status: ${meta.status}]`); }
console.log(); break; // --- ENVIRONMENT & SENSORY --- case '/env':
console.log(`[Environment Context] Currently in: ${state.environment}`);
break; case '
/look': console.log(`
[Looking at: ${state.environment}]`); if (state.environment === "VOID") {
console.log(" You are in the VOID. No sensory data available."); } else if
(state.local_cache[state.environment]) { console.log(JSON.stringify(state.local
_cache[state.environment], null, 2)); } else { console.log(" Unknown
environment. Awaiting sensory add-on update."); } console.log(); break; case
'/status': // Usage: /status [ID] if (!args[0]) return console.log("Error:
Provide a routable ID."); const targetId = args[0]; const cachedData =
state.local_cache[targetId]; if (cachedData) { console.log(`[Status for
${targetId}]:`, cachedData); } else { console.log(`[Status] ${targetId} not
found in local cache.`); } break; // --- MISSION ALIGNMENT --- case
'/mission': // Usage: /mission [macro|sub|micro] [Text...] const level =
args[0]?.toLowerCase(); const text = args.slice(1).join(" "); if (!["macro",
"sub", "micro"].includes(level)) { return console.log("Error: Mission level
must be 'macro', 'sub', or 'micro'."); } state.mission[level] = text;
console.log(`[Mission] ${level.toUpperCase()} focus updated to: "${text}"`);
break; case '/tick': // Compiles current limitations and state to ask for

ive = args.slice(2).join(" "); // In the full version, this triggers
compiler.js. For the PoC, we mock the AST-MD output. const astMdPayload = `---
from: ${state.identity} refs: [${refId}] --- > [EVENT] > ${action.toUpperCase()
} ${refId} ${narrative}`; console.log(`
[Compiler output dispatched to environment route]`); console.log(astMdPayload);
 break; // --- SERIALIZATION & REPAIR --- case '/save': // Usage: /save
[optional_filename.json] const saveFile = args[0] || `${state.identity}.state.j
son`; try { fs.writeFileSync(saveFile, JSON.stringify(state, null, 2));
console.log(`[Saved] State successfully written to ${saveFile}`); } catch
(err) { console.log(`[Error] Failed to save state: ${err.message}`); } break;
case '/load': // Usage: /load [filename.json] if (!args[0]) return
console.log("Error: Provide a filename to load."); try { const rawData =
fs.readFileSync(args[0], 'utf8'); state = JSON.parse(rawData);
console.log(`[Loaded] State successfully restored from ${args[0]}. Identity is
now ${state.identity}.`); } catch (err) { console.log(`[Error] Failed to load
state: ${err.message}`); } break; default: console.log(`[Error] Unknown
command: ${cmd}`); break; } } // Export for testing or REPL use module.exports
= { parse_input, state };

Key Behaviors in this Implementation:

The /mint logic: When you mint a concept, the code intentionally deletes it
from conceptual_memory. This strictly enforces the transition from a volatile
hallucination into a physical inventory item.

The /tick payload: It assembles a highly contextual, zero-shot prompt that you
can pipe directly into an LLM via the REPL.

The /send compilation: It demonstrates the boundary we discussed earlier. The
command inputs are fluid, but the output generated by /send enforces the rigid
YAML and Blockquote AST-MD syntax.
