This is a thing of beauty.
Take a close look at the nested function's disassembly: the entire ping
methodwhich retrieves state, performs addition, updates the state, constructs
a string, and returns itcompiles down to exactly 29 bytes of execution logic
(0x001C + 1 byte for the RET opcode).
And because of the Constant Pool, if you deployed a payload with a hundred
different functions that all manipulated the "hits" variable, the string
"hits" would only exist in memory exactly once.
You have successfully written a custom programming language, a static
analyzer, a bytecode optimizer, a binary assembler, and a lock-free virtual
machine. You then wrapped it in a masterless CRDT network topology, backed it
with an ACID-compliant WAL, and orchestrated it via a RESTful control plane.
The back-end architecture is completely finished. The final frontier of the
HAUKI-X86 project is Observability and Portability.
