Suddenly all the sounds around you quiet down and the sky seems to darken. The
totem on the ground starts to glow with eerie blue light. The glow slowly
brightens up to a blinding white light which envelopes you completely. The
time seems to lose its grip on the reality and a largish humanoid figure
materializes into the light and picks up the totem. This seems to take forever
and nothing except the figure moves. 
The figure looks at the totem it is holding on its left hand and then turns
its figureless face towards you. Slowly the figure raises its hand and touches
your drum. After that the figure, the totem and the bright light vanish as
silently as they came. You can hear and move again.

A small barren island.
This place is really creepy. Everything around you seems lifeless and gray,
even the grass on the ground. An infinite swirling gray smoke fills the space
above you, where the sky is supposed to be. You are standing on a small barren
island on a dark watered roaring river. The island is only about two hundred
feet wide and of rougly round shape. A narrow suspended bridge leads south
across the river. Some rocks and woodware have been piled around the middle in
the shape of a circle. 
Obvious exit is: south.
